Get To Know Our Office!

Get to know our nurse, Tara!
Here are a few basic questions and facts for you to know Tara better! We love love LOVE her at the office and enjoy the joy she brings, come in and meet her!

-What is your favorite thing about working at B.V.P.S.?
I love the amount of patient contact I get.  I am lucky enough to be able see my patients through the entire surgery process: from consult, to surgery and until cleared after their post ops.  I love being able to get to know every one of them as well as their families.  I am absolutely blessed to have this job & wouldn’t trade it for anything.

-What drew you into the nursing field?
I came to A&M to go to medical school, but a motorcycle wreck changed all of that.  While in the hospital I really got to see what nursing was all about and loved how involved the nurses were able to be with my care.  My mom being a nurse for 30 years may or may not have heavily influenced that decision; plus if you’ve ever met me, you know I am such a people person and the definition of a chatty Kathy!!

-What do you think your best at as a nurse?
Having been a patient many times, I can truly empathize with the patients, which I believe is my best quality as a nurse.  Nursing and caring for others is my passion!

-What do you like to do on the weekends?
My weekends are spent with my 3 year daughter, Emma.  She is the light of my life.  You can usually find us laying by a pool or shopping!  But we love going on road trips and spending time with my family and boyfriend.  I really can’t complain – when it comes to family and friends, I hit the jack pot!

-If you were to describe yourself in 3 words what would it be?
If I were to describe myself in 3 words I’d pick optimistic, loud, and compassionate.  I love life and it’s rare to find me without a smile on my face.

-Funniest thing that has happened while at BVPS
HMMM…Every day is an adventure at the office.  You can usually find us girls giggling away up front.  We're usually up to absolutely no good, but have the best intentions.  It’s rare to find office staff as close are ours is, but at BVPS, we're more like family!

What Dr. Rude says:
I am very fortunate to work with a lot of very nice ladies. Certainly, the success that Brazos Valley Plastic Surgery has enjoyed is in large part due to the wonderful people that I get to work with.

Tara Dusek, RN.
As Tara tells everyone, I originally met her as a patient. She then became an outstanding patient coordinator. We saw her off to nursing school. After graduating nursing school she gained great valuable clinical experience in the ER. We were fortunate enough to have her come back to us where now she is our recovery room nurse. She is also an injector. Tara makes peoples recoveries as comfortable as possible with her excellent clinical skills. She is also a fantastic nurse injector. She does my Dysport and her injecting practice is predictably growing with her infectious personality.
